FISHING REPORT FOR COCOA BEACH, CAPE CANAVERAL, PORT CANAVERAL, ORLANDO FLORIDA – January 2019

Big News Everyone, we just purchased another new boat for our offshore / deep sea / shark fishing trips! It’s a 32ft Stuart Angler that was fully redone from the hull up. We call it the “Game Changer” this boat is absolutely beautiful and we know you all will enjoy fishing on it as well. We still have our other 32ft boat called the “Sonar”!!!

Last month the fishing was incredible from catching monster black drum on our inshore / river trip to fishing deep sea catching a ton of kingfish, cobra, and a handful of sailfish. We still caught our variety of different snappers and what not and our shark trips were a blast with bull redfish and a variety of different shark species.

Inshore Fishing from Cocoa Beach, Cape Canaveral, and Titusville will be targeting Redfish, Sea Trout, and Black Drum in the Banana River, Indian River and the Mosquito Lagoon. Every day is a different day depending on what is biting best that week but we stay dialed in on what’s going to be the hottest bite for our customers.

Nearshore Fishing depending on what the bait situation is can be a ton of fun right now. As large numbers of baitfish migrate up and down the beaches of Cocoa Beach and Cape Canaveral so will some Bull Redfish, Triple Tail, Snook, Spanish Mackerel, Jacks, Blue Fish, and even Sharks! We try to concentrate fishing the bait pods with either live bait, cut bait, and even some artificial lures when the bait fish are present.

Deep Sea Fishing could be a huge variety of different species depending on whether you book a half day or a full day, depending on the weather, of course. King Fish, Amberjack, Grouper (season is closed until May 1st), Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, Black Fin Tuna, Red snapper, Vermillion and Mangrove Snapper, Sharks, Sea bass, Trigger fish, Beeliners, Wahoo, the list goes on that’s what’s so awesome about the ocean, it could be anything. We will always let you know what the hottest bite will be based on what trip you book. Slow trolling and bottom fishing are the basic tactics for these fish.

Shark Fishing close to the beaches of Cocoa Beach and Cape Canaveral is primarily our go-to during this trip. While fishing on this trip we sometimes catch sharks as well as other species, including Redfish, Goliath Grouper will start making there way in closer over the next couple months, and lets not forget the occasional Bottom Ray. Sharks can range anywhere from 2-8ft.

All of these trips are family and kid friendly, we truly love what we do everyday and look forward to getting you and your family onboard!

Tight Lines,
Skippers Jamie, Nate, Jon, Will, Matt
