FISHING REPORT FOR COCOA BEACH, CAPE CANAVERAL, PORT CANAVERAL, ORLANDO FLORIDA – January 2019
Big News Everyone, we just purchased another new boat for our offshore / deep sea / shark fishing trips! It’s a 32ft Stuart Angler that was fully redone from the hull up. We call it the “Game Changer” this boat is absolutely beautiful and we know you all will enjoy fishing on it as well. We still have our other 32ft boat called the “Sonar”!!!
Last month the fishing was incredible from catching monster black drum on our inshore / river trip to fishing deep sea catching a ton of kingfish, cobra, and a handful of sailfish. We still caught our variety of different snappers and what not and our shark trips were a blast with bull redfish and a variety of different shark species.
Inshore Fishing from Cocoa Beach, Cape Canaveral, and Titusville will be targeting Redfish, Sea Trout, and Black Drum in the Banana River, Indian River and the Mosquito Lagoon. Every day is a different day depending on what is biting best that week but we stay dialed in on what’s going to be the hottest bite for our customers.
Nearshore Fishing depending on what the bait situation is can be a ton of fun right now. As large numbers of baitfish migrate up and down the beaches of Cocoa Beach and Cape Canaveral so will some Bull Redfish, Triple Tail, Snook, Spanish Mackerel, Jacks, Blue Fish, and even Sharks! We try to concentrate fishing the bait pods with either live bait, cut bait, and even some artificial lures when the bait fish are present.
Deep Sea Fishing could be a huge variety of different species depending on whether you book a half day or a full day, depending on the weather, of course. King Fish, Amberjack, Grouper (season is closed until May 1st), Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, Black Fin Tuna, Red snapper, Vermillion and Mangrove Snapper, Sharks, Sea bass, Trigger fish, Beeliners, Wahoo, the list goes on that’s what’s so awesome about the ocean, it could be anything. We will always let you know what the hottest bite will be based on what trip you book. Slow trolling and bottom fishing are the basic tactics for these fish.
Shark Fishing close to the beaches of Cocoa Beach and Cape Canaveral is primarily our go-to during this trip. While fishing on this trip we sometimes catch sharks as well as other species, including Redfish, Goliath Grouper will start making there way in closer over the next couple months, and lets not forget the occasional Bottom Ray. Sharks can range anywhere from 2-8ft.
All of these trips are family and kid friendly, we truly love what we do everyday and look forward to getting you and your family onboard!

Cocoa Beach, Orlando, Titusville, Port Canaveral, Cape Canaveral Fishing Report – June 2017
Well summer is officially here and so are the fish, let’s just keep are fingers crossed on the weather this month. This has to be by far one of my favorite times of the year to fish and its finally here along with its multiple species to target. Amberjack, Grouper, Mangrove Snapper, Trigger fish, Sea bass, Kingfish, and red snapper have all been plentiful out deep sea on our bottom fishing trips!
The snook bite goes off also during the summer months as they start to spawn in all the inlets to the south of us. My favorite inlet to fish is the St. Lucie inlet. The snook get so thick in that inlet its like fishing out of a bath tub. Fish from all sizes and some up to 30lbs. You want to make sure you have plenty of live bait and also a variety of bait just in case one type isn’t working. The best baits I’ve had luck with is live sardines and live greenies and thread fins. Just make sure you have plenty of sabiki rigs to catch your bait.
The trout and redfish bite has also been good in both the Indian River and Mosquito Lagoon. Redfish from slot size to over 40inches are being caught along with some big sea trout. The artificial bite has been decent but they have been chewing really good on the cut bait.
If your interested in fishing for tarpon, snook, redfish, or trout give us a call and will get you out there, I am also offering special snook trips down in stuart so give us a call if your interested.
Well that’s all for you this month so good luck and see you out on the water!!
Cocoa Beach, Orlando, Titusville, Cape Canaveral, Port Canaveral Fishing Report – February 2017
Its the beginning of yet another month so I hope everyone had an awesome new year and caught plenty of fish. During the course of this month there are many different species to target whether you like to fish the inshore species or the nearshore species.
I’ll start off by talking about the nearshore fishing, depending on the person whether you like slow trolling or sight fishing there’s both right now to do. Slow trolling for king fish is hot right now along with some sailfish in the mix. If you can find live bait like pogies, greenies, or thread fins then your golden. If you can make your own king fish rigs a light wire with two treble hooks will do the job. The equipment I like to use for slow trolling for kings or sailfish is a Shimano TLD20 matched with a Shimano Tallus Blue water rod with thirty to forty pound mono. There is also triple tail and cobia to target which are a ton of fun to sight fish on fly or spinning rod. When your out looking for triple tail look for color changes or floating sargasm. On the color changes where there’s a good temperature change is where I would also look for the cobia. Live bait, jigs, and live shrimp will be your best baits when targeting them.
The inshore bite is also on fire, redfish and trout are the main species to target until the black drum show up in good numbers. The winter time is also the best time to target big sea trout, as we get these cold fronts it pushes all the fish into deeper holes on the flats and if you find the right hole its like catching fish out of a bath tub. In the mix of the trout and redfish there is also black drum which too are a lot of fun to catch. If you’ve never caught one before they fight just like redfish but there not as spooky, the only thing that can frustrate you is they can be very picky sometimes. My choice of lures are the gulp jerk shads and shrimp along with Logic Lures soft plastics.
Well that’s all I have for you this month so good luck out there and tight lines!!
